Why? What's it all about?

I have been asked a few times over the last few months, "Why are you selling Cancer Awareness products?".

Well, to raise awareness and raise money for charity, is the short answer.

The longer answer......

In early 2023, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. At the same time, the doctors also found pre-cancerous cells in the uterus. 2023 was shaping up to be a fairly rubbish year. We didn't know what was in store, we didn't know what was going to happen, what the treatment would be, how bad the treatment would be, how to treat two different diagnoses at the same time. We didn't have a clue what pre-cancerous actually meant in terms of treatment. Is that still cancer? Aren't all things pre-cancerous until they become cancerous...

It turned out that she was actually very lucky (although it certainly didn't feel that way at the time). The breast cancer was caught early and the uterine issues were not quite cancer yet so, it wasn't as dire as it certainly could have been.

We met some amazing and dedicated people over the next 12 months, that helped a great deal. We, as I said, were lucky. We saw many many people at the hospitals that were doing it really tough, and we could see the support the doctors, nurses and volunteers were giving. We came out the other side, grateful and thankful to everyone that helped us.

One small way we can give back is by donating to the research and the organisations that helped us and so many others. With enough funding and support, hopefully one day cancer will be a thing of the past. Until then, we will donate some of our profits to charities supporting cancer patients and research.
